I’m Andrew Svec, owner of ModHeirloom. I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii where I took to woodworking at a young age watching my father build sets for events and commercials. During my college years at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago I honed the skills I had acquired and graduated with a BFA in furniture design. I put my craft to the test by working at some of Chicago’s finest cabinetry shops, which taught me the skills and the mindset needed to run my own operation. Now after ten years in Chicago I have come to Portland to continue my passion for casework and furniture and share my talent with this wonderful city.
